‘One-minute silence can help you reinvent yourself’

“It is human to react to situation that you would term as out of your control. You tend to get annoyed when things don’t go as you wish to. In doing so, you start distancing yourself from your goals and focus. The multiplication of such reactions develops a negative attitude. You charge your mobile phone today but don’t charge your mind. Your thoughts are constantly hovering over your mind that takes away peace from it. We can’t deny the fact that everyone is busy, but spare one minute during day’s work, keep silence in your mind and give it a break. It will delete unnecessary stuff from your mental frame and you will surely feel relaxed, redefined and be able to reinvent yourself. This is the charging of your mind that will also change your attitude and outlook.”

Speaking on ‘Studying the Science of Attitude’ at AMA’s ‘All Round Grooming – Inspiration Lessons from Indian Wisdom’, Brahma Kumari Shivani said, “Every living or non-living thing needs a pause, which is a big process of rectification of future. In today’s world, what counts most is your attitude. It can make or break you. Your feelings follow your thoughts and the action is derived through your attitude that is your personality, image and future. What comes back to me is my destiny, but it came back from what I sent."

She said, people tend to write everyone else’s scripts but never find time or even think to write their own script. When people don’t act according to your script, you react impulsively and rudely. You can’t change others.

"I am not saying you shouldn’t try to change things for the good, but be objective. This will balance the equilibrium of your thoughts, action and attitude. Only we are responsible for what we are today. Don’t pass the blame on others. In the last one year, there are plenty of cases seeking solace and solutions from psychiatrists and astrologers. Why? These people did not read the process of recession and didn’t change their attitude and way of life. If you want to be happy, start focusing on what is in your control. Alcohol and anger add to the woes of the person whose situation arises out of his own action,” she said.

Thoughts for Meditation

  • "The ever-moving is a continuous cycle of change, moving in a smooth and rhythmic motion. I am in the center, steady aware."
  • "Let me watch the circumference from the center. Let me observe the kaleidoscope of changes from that point which views all points."
  • "Each turn of the wheel can be either a cause of my bondage or a cause of my freedom. With awareness, I can use each turn as a challenge, to free myself from karmas, to bring out transformation, to feel new life, and to lead me closer to my reality."

Rethinking Complaining

Stop complaining.Image by aturkus via Flickr
We all know someone who has elevated the process of complaining to a high art. Sometimes funny, sometimes exhausting, these people have the ability to find a problem just about anywhere. In its more evolved form, complaining is simply the ability to see what's not working, in one's own life or in the external world, and it can be quite useful if followed to its natural conclusion—finding a solution and applying it. However, many of us don't get that far, and we find that complaining has become an end in itself. In small doses, this is not a big problem, but if complaining has become a huge part of our identities, it may be time to take a good look at how we are spending our energy.

Complaining is a person's way of acknowledging that they are not happy with the way things are. In a metaphorical way, when we complain or criticize, we are tearing down an undesirable structure in order to make room for something new. But if all we do is tear down, never bothering to summon the creative energy required to create something new, we are not fulfilling the process. In fact, we are at risk for becoming a stagnant and destructive force in our own lives and in the lives of the people we love. Another issue with complaining is that we sometimes tend to focus on other people, whom we can't change, as a way of deflecting attention from the one person we can change—ourselves. So transforming complaining into something useful is a twofold process that begins with turning our critical eye to look at things we can actually do something about, and then taking positive action.

When we find ourselves complaining, the last thing we need to do is get down on ourselves. Instead, we can begin by noticing that we are in the mode of wanting to make some changes. But rather than lashing out at somebody or an organization, we can look for an appropriate place to channel this energy—not our neighbor's house, but possibly parts of our own. Finally, we can ask ourselves the positive question of what we would like to create in the place of whatever it is we want to tear down. When we do this, we channel a negative habit into a creative process, thus using our energy to change the world around us in a positive way.

PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST ~ Personal Management

Whatever endeavor we take, first flashes in our mind frame. We see the possibility of it's potential in the light of our own conscience. It is called mental creation, that we cautiously integrate in our brain. It also reflects our own uniqueness and the personal, moral and ethical guidelines that persuade to fulfill our desires most happily.

Then there is second creation, the physical creation. It is the actualization, the natural emergence of our habits. It is the exercise of independent will towards becoming principle centered. We are in a habit to put first things first by practicing effective self-management. Self-management that is the breaking down, the time-bound left brain aspect of effective self-government.

How you can attain this power of self-management? It is not so difficult to attain this power. Switch on the wheel of your self awareness system that will ignite your conscience. Finally it will energize your independent will and make effective self-management possible.

The human will is an amazing thing. Time after time, it has triumphed against unbelievable odds. So be enthusiastic, give your will a trust.

BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND ~ Personal Leadership

Being a rational and disciplined being we plan everything at before hand. Because it gives us the edge to fulfill objectives according to our own pace and purpose. It gives us a sense of relaxed feelings when we can take the initiative and plan the infrastructure for establishing our movements in right direction.

We able to establish contact with our inner guidance system at the heart of our circle of influence. And thus starts the habit -
to begin with the end in mind. Simply put it is to begin today with the image, picture, or paradigm of the end of our life as our frame of reference or the criterion by which everything else is examined.

To begin with the end in mind is to start with a clear understanding of our destination. It gives us the knowledge where we are going so that we better understand where we are now and so that the steps we take are always in tune with right perspective.

This habit is revolved around the principle of personal leadership, which means that leadership is the first creation and it is very much important to lead our own notion and actions ahead. This habit also demands to approach to our principle roles in the family, or in the business as well as our other roles in life, with our values and directions clear. So that the paradigms from which our thinking and attitude flow are congruent with our deepest values and in harmony with correct principles.
